This film is inspired by the life and work of Santoka Taneda, a Japanese haiku-poet who lived from 1882 until 1940. Haiku is a form of japanese poetry, often on the subject of nature and the seasons.
During his life Santoka traveled the whole of Japan as a begger/monk writing about his travels.
Our group is formed of 5 people from different nationalities so this is our interpretation of his story and his writing.
The film spans from when he started his journey until he found the place where he rested.
